Adam Rohan, Assistant Surveyor at Core Five, joined a team of architects and engineers this weekend to compete in the finals of the TeamBuild Future Leaders Competition 2015.Eleven teams, representing twenty-four top construction industry companies, made it through to the finals. Their performance was evaluated by fourteen senior industry figures, each representing a construction institution. This year the panel included George Adams (PP CIBSE), Peter Murray (Master of the Worshipful Company of Constructors, and Chair of NLA), Patricia Newton (PM Worshipful Company of Constructors), and John Brennan (FCIOB, past winner of CMYA).
The Competition challenged teams to plan, design and present hypothetical proposals based around ‘Edinburgh Gateway’- the complex infrastructure interchange at Gogar, west of Edinburgh, connecting road, tram, rail and air transport.
For their innovative two-stage procurement strategy Adam’s team was awarded the ‘Procurement, Contract and Risk Strategy Prize’ by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects. Overall they finished the competition in the top four.
Congratulations to Adam and the rest of the team, including Amy Burgess from Hawkins\Brown, Francsco Scarpignato from Curtins Consulting, Luke Harrison from ARUP and Stephany Le Run from EOC.
Adam is enrolled on our RICS accredited Core Foundations training scheme, designed to give the brightest and best graduates and trainees the necessary experience and skills to progress to Chartered designation and ultimately become the successful future leaders of Core Five.
