At Core Five we place great emphasis on our graduates, selecting high calibre individuals and guiding their progression through to becoming Chartered Quantity Surveyors and that proud moment of passing their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and becoming a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

As a student member of the RICS, you will join Year 1 of our Core Foundations training scheme and commence your APC training to become a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.

There are a number of recently qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyors within the company who are now active APC Supervisors, passing on the benefit of their recent experience of the APC process to current graduates in order to advance their APC progression. There really is a focus on career progression right from the start at Core Five, with a particular focus on success with the APC. This is demonstrated by the regular graduate forums, CPD sessions arranged in-house and regular reviews to ensure suitable experience is gained, all part of Core Foundations.

Scott Easton (Web)

Scott Easton, BSc (Hons) – Assistant Surveyor

“Working as a non-cognate graduate surveyor for Core Five following completion of my undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics, I am pleased to be benefiting from the invaluable experience of working on some high profile and technically challenging projects, whilst still having the flexibility to complete my part-time MSc postgraduate course at The University of Reading.

The in-house graduate forums and structured APC programme have been a great way for me to continuously apply my knowledge and experience as well as learning as much as possible from my peers.”

Adam Rohan (Web)

Adam Rohan, BSc (Hons) ACIOB – Assistant Surveyor

“Since joining Core Five in May 2015 and continuing with my part time undergraduate degree in quantity surveying at the University of Westminster (following completion of my initial undergraduate degree in Building Surveying and working for a main contractor for a number of years), I have been exposed to a diverse range of construction projects at various stages. I have been well supported by a very experienced and enthusiastic team and have enjoyed the opportunity to gain ‘real life’ experience of the subjects covered in my degree, including contract law, procurement and tendering, cost planning and measurement.

Core Five recently sponsored me to take part in the TeamBuild Future Leaders Competition 2015, where I was able to apply this experience and help my team win the Procurement, Contract and Risk Strategy Prize, awarded by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects.”
