We understand that not all future surveyors want to go straight to university full -time and would prefer to ‘earn and learn’ by completing a part-time university degree (qualifications dependent) at the same time as working. In fact, a number of our present staff have followed this established route.

This approach usually takes 5 years and will require 1 day a week to be spent at university, usually of your choice, completing an RICS accredited degree course whilst becoming a student member of the RICS. Within your final year, we will look to enrol you on year 1 of our Core Foundations training scheme and be able to use this period as part of your APC training to become a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.

Applicants are expected to be on course to achieve, or have achieved, a sufficient number of UCAS points to allow application to an RICS accredited quantity surveying course at university.

Why choose us

– High APC pass rate
– Competitive salary with performance related bonus / profit share
– Sponsorship of undergraduate degree
– Award winning company
– Young, expanding company
– Opportunity to work with blue chip Clients on prestigious projects
– High staff retention rate
– Paid subscription to professional bodies
– A wide range of sports and social activities

Applications are welcome now and will close formally on 31 March 2017 although we are always willing to speak with the right candidate.

Trainee positions will usually commence from June 2017.

Assessment of candidates will be by personal interview and following submission of an up to date CV and covering letter providing further supporting information to their application. When you are ready to apply, please click here to send your CV covering letter to Simon Hughes, Partner. We will be in touch shortly afterwards.

Freddie Wilson, Trainee Surveyor

“I joined Core Five in January 2015 and currently attend CEM in Reading on a part-time day release basis. I have gained invaluable experience in my time here, and am very happy with my current situation. I work in the Residential team, and have already seen projects from conception through to completion and gained experience in a large number aspects of the process.

I aspire to progress through my APC after recently being enrolled on the Core Foundations Structured Training Programme on which I have already received top quality training and support towards every aspect of the APC and my personal development. I believe that Core Five ticks all the boxes, not just for trainees / graduates but personnel of all levels, and always praise the firm itself and my colleagues to everyone.”
